The Traverse City Track Club has given more than 2.5 million dollars back to the community over the years. Charitable giving is one way TCTC thanks the community for supporting its programs and events while advancing its mission to promote health, wellness, and opportunity through running and walking. The club’s charitable efforts include scholarships, grants, donations to volunteer groups (paid work groups), the Golden Shoe Fund, and support for community partners. For example, over the past 25 plus years, more than 250,000 dollars has been directed to the Munson Healthcare Patient Needs Fund as part of TCTC’s broader commitment to giving back.
The TCTC has an endowment with both the Grand Traverse Regional Community Foundation (GTRCF) and the Northwestern Michigan College (NMC) Foundation, allowing the ability to provide grants and scholarships for many years to come. The TCTC Endowment with the GTRCF was established in 2010 by the TCTC Board who had a vision for and commitment to the long term ability to support the charitable giving efforts of the Club.
