Recognizing that many of our members are not only tops in their age group, but also role models of a healthy lifestyle that includes running, we created an official Racing Team in 2014. Wearing the official Racing Team jersey, these amazing runners have represented our club at all levels, including local, state and national events including the Boston Marathon

Expectations of a TCTC Racing Team Member

TCTC Racing Team members are chosen on the basis of showing good sportsmanship and character, and have a strong desire to be active in the local running community and age-group running ability.

All TCTC Racing Team members are expected to conduct themselves in the utmost respectable, honorable and sportsmanship-like manner, as ambassadors in the community representing TCTC with integrity.

TCTC Racing Team members are expected to wear the TCTC Race singlet at all running events that they participate in.

TCTC Racing Team members are asked to volunteer in at least two of the club’s premiere events including the Cherry Kids Fun Run in July, the Good Fight 5K in October, the Farmland in December, The Jingle Bell Run in December, and the Frozen Foot in January.

TCTC Racing Team members must keep a current membership in the Traverse City Track Club

We invite members to submit an application to help fill our roster of 20-30 men and women.

What is your 2022/2023 Race Goal?

My 2023 race goal is to get sub 3:30:00 (hopefully at Bayshore!). Once I accomplish that, I will shift towards focusing on building holistic strength in preparation for my first Boston Marathon; core muscles via yoga, mental stamina via meditation, and solid routines regarding sleep and nutrition. I am also looking forward to my first season competing with the TCTC racing team!

Why do you want to represent TCTC Racing Team?

I enjoy being a strong and focused runner, but the joy seems diminished when you're only running for yourself. Being part of the coaching team for East Middle School has taught me humility, and allowed me a chance to witness the beautiful orchestration of comraderie for the first time since my high school days. I am inspired by all that TCTC does withen our community, and I am honored to have a chance to represent them, and to experience the unique perspective of teammate once again.
