Age and Hometown: Adrian, Michigan
Current Resident of: Traverse City
Family: Wonderful wife Rebecca, three awesome children Silas, Samaria,& Selah
Years Running: Ran Tack & CC in high school, took 20 years off and currently about one and a half years
Why do you run: I did not want to be the dad that couldn’t run around and play with his kids!
Running Accomplishments: Joined the TCTC & I am part of the Race Team!
Favorite Race(s): Dune Dash, Glenn Arbor Sumner Solstice, Zombie Run….
Favorite Running Race Distance: Mainly 5k to this point but bumping it up this year so ask me again next year.
Favorite Pre-race meal: Day of oatmeal and raisins (my daughter makes it for me the night before, she calls it my racing fuel)
Any Goals for 2018: Run faster & further, hopefully get a marathon in before next year!
Favorite Running Quote: “Get the lead out of your @$$ and go” Coach Burt Cebulski
Best running advice given to me: Keep going to the end, it doesn’t matter how fast as long as you finish!
Dumbest running moment: High school Cross country meet, slept in my stuff to be ready early the next morning. At the start line take off sweats, my shorts are on backwards. The team surrounds me and I changed at the line. This happened twice, second time I just ran with my shorts backwards (that way the guy behind knew what school I was from).
What other interests do you have outside of running? Love spending time with my family, Co-pastor at “The Surge Church” in TC
How do you feel about and how do you plan to represent the Traverse City Track Club as a Race Team member? I was surprised that I made the cut. I am super excited, it is an honor to be part of this great group of runners. I am proud to be an ambassador for the TCTC!
