Why do you run: ?I run because it helps me relieve my stress. I like to see progression, whether that is in time, in miles or in my mood after a run. When I run I feel like I am writing poetry with my muscles and my mind feels so clear.
Running Accomplishments: : I ran my first marathon last year at Bayshore and loved it! Besides bayshore I have never run a race where I didn't win my age group!
Favorite Race(s): Benzie Firecracker 5K, Tahqua Trail run 25K, Aptos Mountains "Forest of Nisene Marks" 25K

Favorite Pre-race meal: Morning of is always sourdough bread, cashew butter and sliced fruit.
Any Goals for 2019: I would like to be a more well rounded athlete. I need to remember during times of training to still do my stretching and strength training! Helps me stay focused on health rather than fitness.

Best running advice given to me: Kick out your stride near the end of your race
Dumbest running moment: I ran at the Y after getting a large tattoo on my arm. I had long sleeves on but black inky sweat ran down my arm onto my hands and up my back. I didn't notice but the very full gym definitely did.. I'm sure it appeared both gross and confusing.
What other interests do you have outside of running? I enjoy wine, poetry and making flower arrangements.
How do you feel about and how do you plan to represent the Traverse City Track Club as a Race Team member? I plan to advocate for more people to get involved beyond fun runs! I would love to see more interaction between members who come for fun runs and those who are going out and racing. I also love the break off groups during the week and think it would be fun to talk about those more. As a member of the race team I also want people to feel comfortable coming to me with questions about the club, local races or their own running routine!
