Why do you run: Keeps me mentally and physically healthy. Makes me feel great!
Running Accomplishments: 2018 ran 46 races ranging from 5ks to half marathons. 2 races won overall female, 18 1st place age group winner and placed in many others.
Was the 2018 Grand Prix points female winner.
2010 heled start and continue to co-direct the “Kiwanis Club of Boyne City 5k Turkey Trot” It’s our Kiwanis Clubs largest fundraiser and has grown every year.
Favorite Race(s): They are all so different and fun! My all time favorite was the Fall Colors Mackinaw Bridge Run, which is no longer. A few others would be the 10 mile CRIM, Great Turtle Half Marathon, Top O MI Half Marathon, Harbour Days 10k. Okay, pretty much whatever race I’m running at the time.
Favorite Running Race Distance: 10k to the half marathon.
Favorite Pre-race meal: Morning of, a banana or Clif bar. Night before, turkey tomato extra romaine on whole grain with a beer for carbo.
Any Goals for 2019: Stay healthy and run injury free.
Favorite Running Quote: Running is my Therapy!
Best running advice given to me: Don’t eat a large meal the day before a race.
Dumbest running moment: Greek food buffet night before the Detroit Marathon (not good).
What other interests do you have outside of running? Spending time with family and friends. Tobogganing with our dog Barkley. I’m very active with the Kiwanis Club of Boyne City, helping the children in our community.
How do you feel about and how do you plan to represent the Traverse City Track Club as a Race Team member?I am very proud and honored to be part of such a great group of people. I love running with and supporting all the friends/team members I’ve met over the years. I plan to continue to enjoy, encourage and promote the TCTC and the running lifestyle.
