Why do you run: I have always loved running and have found wonderful mental alertness and physical fitness in this great sport.

Running Accomplishments: At Purdue, competing in many track & cross country events. In Flint, Michigan, 5 sub 60 minute races in the Bobby Crim 10 mile race. Several age group wins in the Traverse City Cherry Festival 5k and the Bayshore 10k races in the last 18 years. Love the Summer Series!

Favorite Pre-race meal: Oatmeal Cereal & 1/2 Banana

Goals for 2019: Maintain my running times from last year and keep having fun running.

Best running advice given to me: My High School coach said "Son, just keep improving"

Dumbest running moment: Falling down on a big piece of cinder in the 1 mile run in H.S., but I did still win.

What other interests do you have outside of running? Helping area kids through the Kiwanis Club of T.C., reading, 19 years of volunteering to do taxes for people, watching good movies with my wife, Mary Kay, and enjoying watching the athletic and artistic performances of all of our 13 grandchildren.

How do you feel about and how do you plan to represent the Traverse City Track Club as a Race Team member? I love the Traverse City Track Club and all of the wonderful people in our club and the great scholarships and other gifts our club has made to the many area schools and organizations. It will be my honor to represent our Club and demonstrate good sportsmanship to all runners.
