Making A Difference

TCTC is actively involved in supporting schools, organizations, and individuals related to running sports. In 2010, Traverse City Track Club distributed $90,139 in grants and gifts to the Grand Traverse Region. Some of the various recipients include: Traverse City Public Schools Cross Country and Track programs, Grand Traverse Academy, TART Trails, VASA, and the Women’s Cancer Fund. TC Track Club also established an endowment with the Community Foundation, which will fund grants and scholarships for many years to come. In 2009, TCTC distributed $82,000 in gifts to area schools and organizations. This doesn’t include the countless hours spent consulting and providing support at various events and functions. Some of our community service activities include:

  • Support for TART Trails development and maintenance
  • Remembrance Run remains largest fund raising event for local Women's Cancer Fund
  • Support for secondary education track and cross country programs
  • Provide scholarships for youth participating in running camps
  • Race equipment support for area events
  • Golden Shoe Fund; a specially created fund that provides free shoes to area kids participating in junior high and high school track and cross country programs.
  • Girls On The Run
  • Resurfacing Area Tracks
